PCB INCREASED 200 PERCENT IN CENTRAL CONTRACT JUST BEFORE THE WORLD CUP 2023

Lahore, 27 September 2023: The Pakistan Cricket Board confirmed that it has successfully negotiated a three-year central contacts deal with its senior players that will run from July 1 2023 to June 30, 2026. As many as 25 cricketers will be offered a momentous deal that will include a portion of ICC revenue.  

The contacts' three-year tenure will have its financial model locked in for the time period. However, player performance will be evaluated every 12 months.

The players are grouped into four categories, each of which has significantly higher monthly fees.


The contract list differs from the previous year in that red-ball and white-ball national contracts have been integrated. The central contract committee advocated this option as a measure to assess the players' match-winning qualities.

Category A (3 players): 202 %

Category B (6): 144 % 

Category C (2): 135 %

Category D (14): 127 %

Players' match fees will increase significantly as well, by 50% for Test matches, 25% for ODIs, and 12.5% for T20I.

Domestic cricket players who are centrally contracted will get 50% of the international match money. Players will also be permitted to participate in two overseas leagues per season.

Central Contracts List with players:

Category A.

Babar Azam, Mohammed Rizwan, and Shaheen Shah Afridi are under category A.

Category B.

Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf, Imam-ul-Haq, Mohammed Nawaz, Naseem Shah, and Shadab Khan are included in category B.

Category C.

Imad Wasim and Abdullah Shafique fall within category C.

Category D

Mohammed Haris, Mohammad Wasim Jr, Saim Ayub, Salman Ali Agha, Sarfaraz Ahmad, Saud Shakeel, Shahnawaz Dahani, Shan Masood, Usama Mir, and Zaman Khan are included in category D.

Before commencing their World Cup campaign against the Netherlands in Hyderabad on October 6, Pakistan will play in two warm-up matches, one each against Australia and New Zealand.
